Hi, I’m Brian Briscoe.
If you’re reading this, you might be living in the painful silence left behind when a child walks away. That silence is deafening, isn’t it? Whether you’re still trying to figure out what went wrong—or if you already know and simply don’t know what to do next—I want to offer you something simple:
A free 15-minute consultation. No pressure. No judgment. Just a conversation.
Because I know how hard it is to make that first call.
Why Offer a Free Consultation?
Let me tell you a quick story.
Years ago, I was struggling through a particularly rough season. Like most people, I thought, “I should talk to someone.” But then came the spiral:
“What if I don’t connect with them?”
“What if they don’t get it?”
“I can’t afford to waste money just figuring out if it’s a fit.”
“Maybe I should just tough it out a little longer…”
That’s why I offer a free 15-minute consultation for parents dealing with estrangement.
It’s not a full counseling session. It’s not a sales pitch. It’s a chance to ask your questions, hear how I work, and most importantly—see how you feel.
Estrangement is already overwhelming enough. The last thing you need is another decision that feels like a gamble.
What We Can Talk About During Your Free Consultation
I keep this conversation relaxed. No clipboard. No judgment. Just two people talking.
Here’s what many parents ask during their consultation:
- “Is what I’m feeling normal?”
Spoiler: It usually is. You’re grieving a living person. That’s not easy to put into words, and most people around you don’t get it. But I do. - “Can you help me process what happened?”
Yes. We can unpack the past in ways that are safe, slow, and rooted in your readiness. - “How do I move forward when I feel stuck?”
We’ll talk about tools, strategies, and boundaries that allow healing—whether or not reconciliation ever happens. - “Is this more of a coaching thing or therapy thing?”
Good question. I offer both. If we’re dealing with emotional wounds, trauma, anxiety, or depression—therapy might be the right path. If you’re looking for practical tools, communication planning, or identity rebuilding—coaching could be the fit. Often, it’s a blend. - “Do you work with people in my situation?”
I work with parents at all points of estrangement: early stages, long-term cutoffs, on-again-off-again situations, or in preparation for a possible reconnection. I’ve also worked with people navigating grief, addiction, trauma, and identity shifts that often overlap with this experience.
Who This Is For
You don’t need to have a perfect backstory or even a clear goal to reach out.
This free consultation is for you if you:
- Are feeling confused, hurt, or lost after your child cut contact
- Don’t know how to cope with the uncertainty
- Feel judged, isolated, or labeled as “toxic” when that’s not your truth
- Want someone to listen—really listen—without jumping to blame or analysis
- Are exploring therapy or coaching, but want to see if I’m the right fit
It’s also for parents who simply want to ask, “Can you help someone like me?”
And if the answer is “not me,” I’ll help you find someone who can.
That’s a promise.
What Happens After the Consultation?
There’s no obligation. After we talk, you can:
- Book a full session (online or in-person if you’re in Texas)
- Join a PLACE support group
- Ask for a referral if I’m not the best fit
- Take some time to think it over
I’ll send you a quick follow-up with options, but you get to decide what’s next—on your own timeline.
Sometimes that first conversation is enough to open a door. Sometimes it plants a seed. And sometimes, it’s just a reminder that you’re not crazy, and you’re not alone.
Why PLACE Exists—and Why I Want to Talk to You
I built PLACE (Parents Living After Child Estrangement) because I was tired of seeing parents blamed, shamed, or dismissed. There are plenty of places that will tell you what you did wrong.
PLACE is where we ask better questions:
- What are you feeling?
- What do you need right now?
- How do we help you start healing, whether or not they ever come back?
Estrangement is complicated. But support doesn’t have to be.
If a free 15-minute call gives you clarity, calm, or comfort—I’ll consider it time well spent.
